Your Coaching Relationship

A coach relates to the client in a partnership. A coach does not relate to the client from a position of expert, authority or healer.

The coach and client choose the agenda focus, format and desire outcome for their work together. The client does not relinquish their responsibility for creating and maintaining these outcomes, nor does the coach take full responsibility for them.

Relationship is a key element of coaching. The coach and client intentionally develop a relationship that is not based on the client's position or performance. It is dependent on honesty, trust and confidentiality.

Coaching is designed to help clients improve their learning, performance, and enhance their quality of life personally and/or professionally. The process is meant to be permanent, based on the habit changing tools used in coaching.
